So, I must now accept that my best friend has a boyfriend and that things have changed. I will admit that I have been extremely hurt by the fact that he would rather spend time with his boyfriend than me, has ditched me numerous times, and lie to me that he’s going home, but through Facebook, find out he is with his boyfriend.

It’s nice to have a boyfriend. I do miss having one, but I am just enjoying being single right now. I am in no rush to find someone. It does seem as if all my friends are in a relationship or at least talking to someone right now.

I should be very thankful that my best friend has found someone and they seem to be very happy. In time, I will heal from this. It’s just accepting the fact that things will not be the same anymore and the friendship is changing. No more will there be nights of random road trips, going out to Denny’s/IHOP late at night for whatever apparent reason, and talking about guys we went on dates with/hooked up with (I don’t hook-up anymore, btw).

So, I guess this is the time where I quit bitching and learn to find a new hobby, explore new things and work on areas in my life that I can improve in. It’s just a new adjustment and of course, we are all creatures of habit. The friendship has changed from an almost daily thing, to hearing from him once to twice a week (if that).

Blaaahhhhhh…..

I can officially say that out of my close circle of friends here in Louisville, I am the only single one of the group. I need some more single friends to hang out with these days… lol.

I’ve been an avid Facebook user since 2005. Oh, the changes I saw when the social media website was open only to college students (had to use your .edu email accounts). I remember when there was no games nor spam and I could just simply send a message to a high school friend who went far-far away from Louisville and we could still keep in touch.

Facebook has changed a lot from when I first signed up. Now, you post status updates about every little thing that is going on in your life, people stalking you, getting pissed off if they can’t see your updates and now it can split up relationships. Seriously, the fun of Facebook has been zapped in a way and now everyone is ADDICTED to it.

I did enjoy using facebook for now almost 6 years. Don’t get me wrong—- it’s still a great way to keep in touch with everyone as almost everyone who has internet access can sign up for an account. Some people just now expect me to be on it and if I don’t make an update in a week, I might get reactions such as, “Are you feeling alright? You haven’t made an update in a while.” WOW. Seriously? Sometimes I like to not get on Facebook and enjoy a little short-term hiatus. It doesn’t mean I am depressed, nor angry at someone or just hiding my updates from everyone to not see. It could also mean that I have moved on from my Facebook addiction that I’ve once had. I have a busy life now… I mean, I drive 40 minutes to work on a daily basis during the work week, I am a grad student, I have homework, going back to the gym and also making sure I take care of my mom and most importantly, myself.

I actually miss blogging and I stumbled upon Tumblr. I really like the concept and sometimes I just need to vent frustrations or want to talk about exciting things in my life or just even totally crazy shit. I remember the good ol’ days of Livejournal and how almost everyone at my high school used it to know what is going on and to express their creativity.

And seriously, why the fuck would I use Twitter all the time. I mean, yeah, I use it to see the latest news updates from CNN or local news stations from where I live, but it’s just kind of scary to see so many people who are obviously addicted to Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc.

So what I am trying to say is that I am taking a break from Facebook for a while. I am not doing it to hide or be a coward or for some strange alterior motive. I am just doing it so I can do more things in my life that are actually important. If people don’t like it, then they can kiss my ass!! XOXOX
